Nordic Walking in Wieda #2 Glashüttenweg

Leave the parking lot to the right onto the forest road and after just 100 m turn left again to cross the Herrenwiesen water on the small bridge directly below the road. Now follow the Glashüttenweg for 1 km in length and 50 meters of elevation. Then turn right, cross another small stream after a few meters, and follow the forest path through the Ziegental continuously for 1.8 km, ascending to 529 meters in elevation. Here you have already reached the highest point of this route. At the crossroads, follow the forest path sharply to the right towards Storchennesttal to the Holzapfeltal. On this steadily descending 3 km long section, you will finally reach the meadows in the Kantortal. (Kantortal: Around 1620, a cultivated area owned by the church that served the livelihood of the cantor.) The tree population here has largely given way in recent years, and a completely new forest is now developing, as in many places in the Harz. In the Kantortal, you can observe grazing cattle and also diverse vegetation. From here, it goes straight on a flat path over a trail junction, past the forest kindergarten back to the starting point, which you reach after 500 m.
