The 4th stage of the BaudenSteig leads from Bad Lauterberg to Bad Sachsa. From the spa park in Bad Lauterberg, cross the Oder towards Wiesenbeker Teich, a reservoir created long ago by Lauterberg miners. Today there is a boat rental and a hut for refreshments on the lakeshore. Afterwards, still a few altitude meters to overcome to Ravensberg. Notable is the 64 m high tower. It served as a listening post during the Cold War. Shortly before Ravensberg lies the Dreiherrenstein. Until 1866, the Kingdom of Prussia, the Kingdom of Hanover, and the Duchy of Brunswick bordered here. From Ravensberg (659 m above sea level) on clear days you can see as far as the Brocken and deep into Thuringia. In winter, the ski area at Ravensberg attracts with really steep descents, wonderful cross-country trails, and toboggan runs. Soon the valley reveals Bad Sachsa. As early as 1864, spa guests were sent to Sachsa by doctors from outside. Today, Bad Sachsa as a stage destination offers numerous spa facilities, a nice bathing landscape, and a cozy old town. The Harzfalkenhof and the fairy tale park are also an experience for children.

Directions
Start in the town center of Bad Lauterberg (S) (House of Guests). Cross the Oder at the spa park. First follow the path, then the street uphill, top right and immediately left again, then right along the edge of the forest. Opposite on the slope is Hausberg and to the right the Bismarck Tower. Take the first opportunity sharply to the left and go uphill on a wide forest road to the Bremer Ruh shelter (1). Shortly right, immediately left path downhill past a steep drop – a relic of mining. Soon steeper downhill, then at the bottom turn left along the street to the former hotel and to the Wiesenbeker Teich (2). Over the dam to Dombrowsky’s Baude, a lovingly decorated log cabin (refreshments). Through the campsite, then along the lake, into the Wiesental. Attention: Soon right over a green bridge, the path climbs steeply up to the Hohe Tür shelter (3) (Elbe/Weser watershed). Downhill on a wide forest road, at the bottom in the valley turn right over a dam crest (4), then cross the forest road in Steinatal. Now on a narrow path to the Ravensberg, cross the Nesselweg and continue uphill to the Judenweg. Now continue left to the Dreiherrenstein, here right and about 30 m along the street, then right again to the nearby Ravensberg summit. On the summit plateau (5) there is a wonderful view (from left to right: Bad Lauterberg, followed by the Großer Knollen, the height range Auf dem Acker with Hanskühnenburg, Achtermann, Brocken, Wurmberg up to Hohegeiß). The descent to Bad Sachsa goes via the Eselsweg; after a few meters keep right to the Ede-Baller-Weg, here you can plan a detour to the Käthe-Schulken Hut (6) and enjoy the view of Bad Sachsa. After a longer stretch on the Ede-Baller-Weg, past numerous foxglove plants that bloom beautifully in early summer, turn sharply left onto the “Philippsgrußweg” to the Philippsgruß Hut (viewpoint). On a narrow path downhill into the Spuketal (caution when wet) to the Märchengrund (7). Follow the path along the stream. Past the summer lime tree through the extensive spa grounds to the Schmelzteich (8). On the dam crest turn left into the spa park to the tourist information (9). To the right it goes to the town center for refreshments and/or overnight stay.
