The mountain-valley route leads from the southern edge of the Harz up to the highest elevations of the southern Harz.

Challenging day route with long climbs to the Hanskühnenburg and the Großer Knollen. At both summits, the huts there invite you to stop for refreshments. Additionally, there are excellent views over the Harz landscape. Overall, the route mainly runs on forest roads. At the end of the tour, a detour to the Steinkirche near Scharzfeld is worthwhile, an impressive medieval cave that is considered the oldest church in the Harz.
