Directions

This easy approx. 5.5 km hike starts from the parking lot at Friedwald Bad Sachsa. First, you cross the L604 to Blumenberg. Here are the fishing ponds in Bad Sachsa. A really beautiful and quiet landscape awaits you here, so the hike starts off relaxed. From here, continue to the Sachsenburg ruins. Then the path leads through the South Harz deciduous forests to the natural outdoor pool Priorteich. If you like, you can of course briefly pause the hike here and then continue refreshed towards Walkenried. You then pass Geiersberg and finally arrive at the Cistercian Museum Monastery Walkenried, the destination of the hike.
