Directions

In the town center of Bad Lauterberg, we follow the steep exit south towards Osterhagen.

Once there, we ride a stretch on the B243 and shortly after keep left onto the traffic-calmed route Steina / Bad Sachsa. Upon arrival in Bad Sachsa, we follow the signs to Wieda. From here, the route gradually becomes steeper until shortly before Braunlage. In the town center of Braunlage, we turn, following main traffic, towards Bad Lauterberg. After a rapid descent on the B27, we follow the signpost to St. Andreasberg over Oderberg.  Now there is a continuous climb of about 4 km at up to 10% gradient to St. Andreasberg. Here we turn left onto the main road to descend significantly in elevation until the town exit. At an inconspicuous crossroads, we turn right towards Sieber.  With an average gradient of 5.4%, we regain the lost elevation on the approximately 1 km long Sieberberg to descend through the Siebertal valley to Herzberg. Upon arrival in Herzberg, we follow the signposts back to Bad Lauterberg parallel to the B243 main road, passing Scharzfeld and Barbis.
