Around the Großer Knollen

In Bad Lauterberg, we follow the main road towards Braunlage/Oder Reservoir. Then, at the entrance to the Oder Valley, we follow the signposts to the left towards St. Andreasberg. The route now climbs moderately to Silberhütte. Upon reaching Silberhütte, we keep left and shortly afterwards turn left towards Sieber/Herzberg. Immediately after the turnoff, the ascent to the Sieberberg Pass begins. Here, an average incline of 5.4% must be overcome before the route leads via a winding descent into the Sieber Valley. Upon arriving in Herzberg, we follow the signs back to Bad Lauterberg parallel to the B243 main road, passing through Scharzfeld and Barbis.
