Additional information

The route has only a few extreme inclines and at a steady pace, climbing the highest mountain in the Harz is quite possible. However, the major difficulties lie in the descents. Hirtenstieg downhill is only rideable with good brakes and suspension (please be considerate of hikers!). The Sandbrinkstraße as well as the paths around the reservoir place very high demands on the biker. The total length of the route represents an additional difficulty.

Warning: Between Eckertalsperre and Dreieckiger Pfahl, the route is not signposted. In snowy conditions it is not passable by bike, as cross-country ski trails are then prepared!
