Iberg Trail - Bad Grund

At Spitzigen Berg you have a wonderful view of the southern Harz foreland. After a steeper descent, you reach the Schweinebraten hut and go left via the Jägerstieg back to the Taternplatz. About halfway along this route, there is a wonderful view of the mountain town of Bad Grund.

From Schweinbraten, you can reach the "Spinne" via a connecting trail. From the Spinne, there is also a hiking route to the Iberger Albertturm (with a guesthouse - closed on Fridays). At the Spinne is also the entrance to the Hasenberg trail from Wildemann. Furthermore, the Bromberg trail above Seesen can be reached from here, which leads to the Sternplatz.

The Iberg trail is one of four trails between Bad Grund, Wildemann, and Seesen with a total network length of 27.8 km. The starting point of the four cross-country skiing trails of medium difficulty is the Taternplatz (approx. 15 minutes from the Seesen motorway exit), which is located exactly between Bad Grund and Wildemann on the Harzhochstraße. The trails are situated at an elevation between 450 and 597 m. To the west is the Kreuzberg trail in two different lengths; the Iberg trail connects the Kreuzberg trail with the Hasenberg trail in a northerly direction.

DSV Premium Trail
This trail is a certified DSV Premium trail.
Together with municipalities in the West Harz and the districts of Goslar and Osterode am Harz, the Foundation for Safety in Skiing Sports (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have worked in recent years to qualitatively develop the trail network in the Harz. The trails have been certified as DSV nordic active centers according to international criteria, marked with a uniform system, and equipped with information boards.
