Hike from Stiege to Eisfelder Talmühle

Please follow the hiking trail mark “green dot” to the HSB station "Eisfelder Talmühle." The hiking trail is marked as number 47L on the map.

Our hike starts at the parking lot in front of the HSB station in Stiege.

We cross the tracks and follow the country road K1352 southwards.

After about 1.1 km, we turn left into the high forest on a curve.

After 90 m, continue to the right and hike through mixed forest until after about 2.9 km we reach a shelter.

The path leads us left further downhill through the Mosebach valley until after about 800 m we come to a small viaduct.

Here the Harz narrow-gauge railway crosses the path. After 200 m, keep right and walk slightly downhill through the Behretal.

After about 1.9 km we come to a level crossing, where we turn left.

After about 700 m, we reach the Harz narrow-gauge railway station “Eisfelder Talmühle” on the right.

There is the possibility of refreshments in the station restaurant (Tel. 036331/47518).

With steam locomotive or railcar of the Harz narrow-gauge railway, we return to Stiege.

You can reach Stiege by car

- via the B81 from the direction of Nordhausen to Hasselfelde, turn off at B242 towards Stiege

- from the direction of Wernigerode via the B244, in Elbingerode turnoff B27 towards Rübeland, then turnoff L96 towards Rappbodetalsperre, turnoff B81 to Hasselfelde, turnoff B242 towards Stiege

- from the direction of Braunlage / Tanne via the B242

You can reach the Harz town of Stiege by bus from the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe:

from the direction of Wernigerode and Allrode with line 260

from the direction of Blankenburg with line 263

or

by the Harz narrow-gauge railway.
