Do you want to discover the diversity of northern Thuringia? Then you are exactly on the right track with the Great Adventure Cycling Route. The route leads you through the fertile plains of the Thuringian Basin, the idyllic Wipper and Unstrut valleys, and the Golden Meadow. You also ride along the scenic ridges of the Heilinger Heights, as well as the Hainleite and Windleite hills. You will cross the primeval Hohe Schrecke just as you will the sun-drenched South Harz and the Hainich National Park. There are many tourist highlights to discover along the way. These include not only visits to the larger cities of Nordhausen, Mühlhausen, Bad Langensalza, Sondershausen, Artern, and Bad Frankenhausen but also all the smaller towns and villages. Furthermore, many sights are located in the midst of nature, such as the Possen amusement park, the Kyffhäuser Monument, the Barbarossa Cave, Hohnstein Castle, or the treetop path in the Hainich. You will never forget this unique experience!
