The approximately 15-kilometer circular route takes you through the small, scenic, and idyllic Harz village of Stiege with its lakes directly into the town of Hasselfelde. The route winds over extensive meadows offering fantastic panoramic views of the Harz mountains such as Brocken and Wurmberg, as well as along the tracks of the Selketalbahn. Shortly before Hasselfelde, you reach the Meriansblick, a viewpoint with rest facilities. Upon arriving in Hasselfelde, the path leads you past the station to the tourist information centre with the local heritage room and Blumenau Museum, the St. Antonius Church, and then to the Kurpark. You cross this and follow the way of the German emperors and kings back to Stiege. Shortly before the Stiege estate, you should take the detour to the viewpoint "Am Lerchenberg" with a Brocken panorama. The circular route is easy to walk without major exertion and offers enchanting views.
Note / Recommendation: If the 15 km seem a bit long, you have the option to end the route as a one-way trip in Hasselfelde after about 6 km and return to Stiege by bus or the Harzer Narrow Gauge Railway.
