Immerse yourself in history and experience the past up close at the Open-Air-Border Museum and the Ring of Remembrance. Route along the Kolonnenweg and back to Sorge over a distance of approx. 9 km. Directions & Parking facilities

You can reach Sorge by car

- from Wernigerode via the B244, take the Elbingerode B27 junction, continue to the Königshütte B242 junction and in Tanne take the B242 towards Braunlage

- from Braunlage via the B242, direction Tanne

- from Nordhausen via the B4 to the L98 Benneckenstein junction, then towards Tanne and via the B242 towards Braunlage

There are plenty of free parking spots available in the Harz town of Sorge:

Recommended parking lot:

- Ebersbachstraße parking spot (follow the signs to the parking lot and then the signs for "Freiland-Grenzmuseum") Note: From the parking spot, driving on the forest road is strictly prohibited!

Further parking spots for alternative starts to the tour:

- Parking spot: Am Kleinen Grenzmuseum, Köhlerbergstraße (former Sorge train station)

- Parking spot: opposite the Hotel Sonnenhof

- Parking spot L97 between Benneckenstein and Hohegeiß

You can reach the Harz town of Sorge by bus from the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe:

from the direction of Wernigerode

or

with the Harzer Schmalspurbahn from Wernigerode or Nordhausen.
