Auerhahn - Circular hiking route "Auerhahn" around Hahnenklee

First, cross the L 516 road and turn left into Wildemanner Street on the other side of the road. Follow this street to the car park at the shelter Am Eselsberg. Keep left and turn into Rückenweg. On the path marked "blue dot" walk straight ahead until you reach L 241. After crossing the country road, turn right onto the Kreuzeck hiking protection path (red triangle). You will reach the Kreuzeck car park via the forest path, which you cross up to the entrance of the "Sunotel" hotel at Kreuzeck. Orientate yourself on the left wooden fence and enter the Auerhahn circular hiking route. You reach it via the hotel grounds to the trail entrance behind the hotel. Hike along the Neuer Grumbacher pond (on your left) until you meet the Liebesbankweg. Turn right onto Liebesbankweg and follow it past the "Nickelhochzeit Bench" and the "Rosenhochzeit Bench" below the dam of the Auerhahn pond. From there keep right and change at the crossing point from Liebesbankweg to the Upper Auerhahn path (red dot in the triangle or 5C/1E). On your left the forestry road leads to the Hahnenklee stave church. Stay on the trail and walk behind the stave church past the "Kronjuwelenhochzeit Bench" and turn left into Birkenweg, go to the L 516. Hahnenklee street leads you left back to the starting point.

The ponds of the "Auerhahn Cascade" served the mine water supply. The water was initially diverted to the Herzog-Anton-Ulrich shaft through the 1150 m long Auerhahn ditch.
