Directions

The starting point is the train station in Thale. From here, we follow the signs towards Friedrichsbrunn. Already in Thale at the intersection Obersteigerweg/Eisenbahnstraße begins the 4.4 km long steep climb over the Hexentanzplatz. But the ascent is not over there yet. It continues with a max. 6% gradient to Friedrichsbrunn. Upon arrival, we keep right and follow the signs via Allrode and Bärenrode to Güntersberge. Here we cross the B242 and follow the road to Strassberg. There we follow the main road to the next intersection and turn right to Breitenstein. Up to the Großer Auerberg with its imposing Josephskreuz, it goes uphill again, then over hilly terrain via Breitenstein and Friedrichshöhe to reach the B242. We follow the B242 to Hasselfelde and turn right there, following the signs to Rappbodetalsperre/Blankenburg. On this road it goes over Wendefurth and Waldesruh until shortly behind Cattenstedt. Here we turn right and can coast calmly via Timmenrode back to Thale to conclude the tour.
