9th stage of the Great Adventure Bike Tour: Volkenroda - Niederdorla

For a short stretch, it goes back to Körner on the Unstrut-Werra bike path. It leads you through Mühlhausen's old town (follow the old town route), preferably with a detour to the tourist information, where you can learn about the tourist highlights worth visiting. Afterwards, your route passes the Swan Pond and the Popperöder spring. From Weidensee, it continues directly into the Hainich. The ascent takes place on a gently sloping gravel road. Above Heyerode, some rest areas with views invite you to take a break. Behind the village you meet the Unstrut-Werra bike path again, but here you have to push your bike briefly past an idyllic farm. Then it continues first over gravel and then over asphalt, only downhill to Niederdorla. This stage ends where the center of Germany is located.
