The Harz was one of the largest mining regions in Europe for several hundred years. Silver, copper, lead, and zinc were mined there. These are valuable metals. The mining towns in the western Harz were wealthy towns. You can still see this in many old buildings. Today, the old buildings and facilities from the mining era belong to the UNESCO World Heritage in the Harz.
On this e-bike route, you ride through a wonderful landscape and pass great sights from the mining period.
The route is 22 kilometers long. The starting point is the parking lot at the Kaiserpfalz in Goslar.
The route takes about 3 to 4 hours. The route is varied and very well suited for e-bikes.

Directions
The route starts in the old town of Goslar and goes up to the Schalke mountain. From the Auerhahn cascade near Bocksberg in Bockswiese, you ride past the six ponds. They lie like steps behind each other.
Between the Auerhahn cascade and Zellerfeld, you continue on the old Harz road. The route then goes through the Spiegeltal to the Upper Harz Mining Museum. This is the oldest technology museum in Germany.
Directions & Parking facilities
At the cathedral square in Goslar, the HarzBus lines 803 and 809 serve the Kaiserpfalz stop. The Goslar station is also only a quarter of an hour on foot away.
At the OutdoorCenter Harz, the HarzBus line 840 serves the stop Clausthal-Zellerfeld Youth Hostel.
