Wilhelm Busch is known to have taken walks frequently and looked at the village idyll from a distance. A specially created "Wilhelm Busch Path," with quotes from his letters, offers insight into his life. Enjoy a view from the Heber down onto the surrounding villages during your walk, over which Busch wrote: "... Then, from the shady path, you see the little villages of Mechtshausen, Rhüden Bornhausen, and the small town of Seesen lying below in the sunshine ...".

Directions
The route starts at the parking lot next to St. Nicholas Church or the Max & Moritz sculpture. From there, the path leads right along “Im Langenbeek” to the cemetery, where the artist’s grave is located. Then continue toward the fields; after about 400 m take the third turn to the right and then uphill toward the forest or the ridge of the Heber. Once at the top, turn right again and follow the forest edge until you turn right once more back to the village (Heberblick). Past the Scharn inn, you reach Wilhelm Busch Ring, from which Pastor Nölke Path branches off. Here you arrive at the "Wilhelm Busch House," which, in addition to the poet’s former living rooms, also houses an exhibition about his works.
