Through the Steinbachtal to Friedrichsbrunn

The starting point of this route is the Bodetal Information Thale. From the central hiking meeting point, first follow the signposts to Hexentanzplatz (marked with a red dot) via Gebirgs- and Heimburgstraße, at the upper end of which a hiking trail leads into the forest.

Continue on this path following the red dot until it turns right at a fork in the path. At this point, continue straight ahead following the sign to "Steinbachtal," cross the Steinbach, then keep right passing the sledding hut to reach a small dam.

Behind the dam, the path leads to the left along the Steinbach upstream (marked R1). You have to cross seven bridges before crossing the rescue path to the Harz Open-Air Theater. From here, follow the "Allröder Butterweg" following the sign to Hexentanzplatz for 0.9 km and pass quarries as well as the Harzbob before reaching the access road to Hexentanzplatz.

Here keep right to then turn left after about 100 meters onto the exit road of Hexentanzplatz. Follow this for about 400 meters beyond the bend in the road and then turn right onto the forest path. After a few meters, at a crossing, the hiking trail to Friedrichsbrunn (marked yellow square) branches off, which you now follow. After the second crossing of the Friedrichsbrunn Chaussee, you reach the Schirmbuche with a shelter. From here it is just under two kilometers to the center of Friedrichsbrunn with a central hiking signpost tree and bus stop.

B6n exit Thale, continue via L240 through Warnstedt to Thale, then continue towards Bodetal
