- Start: Car park village center Pölsfeld
- Destination: Car park village center Pölsfeld
The starting point is the car park in the village center of Pölsfeld. Copper mining shaped the region for over 800 years. Witnesses are the remaining spoil heaps. Numerous small heaps, the "family heaps" from the 12th and 13th centuries, uniquely enliven the landscape.
Nature has long since reclaimed the heap locations with trees and other plants. The village of Pölsfeld is closely connected to mining. The interplay between forest, meadows, and field margins is impressive and makes the hike an experience. You walk through the village of Obersdorf, the Hainsche valley, and past an old windmill. The route follows a section of the certified Karst hiking trail with very good signage, numerous resting places, and information boards at each location.

The St. Moritz Church in Pölsfeld (1535) is known for the organ by the famous organ builder Hildebrandt from 1728 – a visit is worthwhile.
