The route leads through the Upper Harz landscape, passing many ponds and ditches.

Challenging mountain-valley route with frequent changes between gravel and asphalt. Hardly any steep ascents, but some single-trail sections with partly high demands. Beautiful view from the Schalke observation tower. For the Oker reservoir (drinking water supply and flood protection), the village of Schulenberg was relocated from the valley to the Wiesenberg meadow.
