Myths, like legends and fairy tales, belong to the oldest cultural heritage of humanity. They provide information about how people thought and felt and how they explained what was happening around them and to themselves. In myths, our ancestors described the becoming and passing away on Earth. Nature as an all-encompassing habitat is at the center.
Follow the approx. 4 km long Nature Myths trail
...a path through the Harz National Park
...a path to knowledge
...a path to interaction
...a path to ourselves
Nine interactive stations invite you to follow the mythical traces of the relationship between humans and nature.
Who fears the big bad wolf? Or is it the human who is frightening? Maybe wolf and human are connected more than we suspect? What symbolic power does a tree hold?
Listen to the song of the brook nymphs. Let the wishing tree grant you a wish. And find your way to yourself in the labyrinth. We wish you lots of fun.
You can reach the trail from the National Park hiking meeting point at the Braunlage youth hostel after approx. 750 meters.
Please note that the experience stations are dismantled during the winter months!
