Directions

Starting from the Tourist Information point, the path leads about 300 m to the Harz Narrow Gauge Railway station (locomotive exhibition).

On the left side in the small park, the town of Hasselfelde honors Dr. Hermann Blumenau, founder of today's major city Blumenau in Brazil, with a monument. Continue here to the right and turn right again behind the hardware store towards the forest swimming pool. A beautiful forest path, 1.1 km, (part of the nature trail) now leads you to the barbecue area with the historic charcoal burner's hut; after another 300 m you reach the Hasselfelde forest swimming pool. Behind the forest swimming pool our circular route (2) leads along the Hoyerteich, where you can take a rest at the anglers' hut. With fresh strength, it goes uphill to the ski trail gate with shelter (800 m). On this path, you have a wide view over Hasselfelde to the north towards the western town Pullman City Harz.

From the ski trail gate, the return path to Hasselfelde leads left to the Brocken viewpoint at the allotment garden (600 m). From there you enjoy the view of Father Brocken and the Wurmberg. After another 900 m you reach the end of circular route (2) at the Tourist Information (hiking info point).

Note:

Please follow the Harzklub signage of circular route 2. The trail mark is a yellow circle with a yellow triangle and the number 2.
