You walk an idyllic circular hiking route with constant and direct views of the Hassel Vorsperre. Along the way, wonderful views invite you to linger again and again. Nature information boards describe the diverse flora and fauna around the reservoir.
The stamp point 53 of the Harzer Wandernadel is located directly at the dam.

From the hiking car park behind Hagenmühle we walk about 3 km along the right bank of the Hassel Vorsperre to the dam.
Nature information boards along the way describe the flora and fauna around the reservoir.
Two viewpoints with resting benches invite you to linger.
The stamp box No. 53 of the Harzer Wandernadel is located about 20 m in front of the dam.
A seating area is available directly at the dam for an extensive rest.
Return route:
With renewed energy we go over the dam - about 400 m through the forest and then turn left to the weather shelter.
Here we go straight ahead and follow the bee nature trail with information boards to the Anglerbuch with a bench from where you have one last view of the reservoir.
Along the Hassel wet meadows we then return to Hagenmühle.
Note:
Please follow the Harzklub signage with the trail mark - yellow circle and triangle with number 1.

You can reach Hasselfelde by car
- via the B 81 from the direction of Nordhausen
- from the direction of Wernigerode via the B244, in Elbingerode turn-off B27 towards Rübeland, then turn-off L96 towards Rappbodetalsperre, turn-off B81 to Hasselfelde
- from the direction of Güntersberge / Stiege via the B242
- from the direction of Braunlage / Tanne via the B242
You can reach the Harz town Hasselfelde by bus of the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe:
from the direction of Wernigerode and Allrode
from the direction of Halberstadt / Blankenburg
from the direction of Benneckenstein
or
by theHarzer Schmalspurbahn.
