Kästeklippen-Okertal tour around Bad Harzburg

At the end of Kurhausstraße, at the Apart-Hotel bus stop, this round trip starts by going right along Waldstraße into the forest. From now on, it goes uphill for three kilometers on this paved road (to the Schlackenplatz shelter) then still gently ascending along Kästestraße. Straight ahead at the Alt-Schlewecker hut. At kilometer 5.7, we reach another paved section of our route. We follow this to the Kästeklippe bus stop (7 km). Those who wish should take a short detour to Kästeklippe and look around there. Then it continues straight downhill on a gravel surface. One kilometer further, we make a sharp left turn and shortly after another left. Now we follow the Okertal halfway up the slope to kilometer 10.5, where we make a sharp left around a rock and shortly after go straight ahead. After another 2 kilometers, it goes right over the Große Romke and behind it, towards Bad Harzburg, left uphill. This steep climb at the beginning leads us to a junction (14.25 km), where we turn right. Half a kilometer further, we turn left onto Ahrendsberger Weg and then immediately right again (Ahornweg, beautiful view of the Brocken). After 15.4 kilometers, we keep left again and follow this path until it ends in a hairpin bend. There, we continue downhill and reach the paved road we already know from the beginning of the route. Now we just have to follow it downhill to the right to its end. (Caution: bus traffic) The starting point is reached after a total of 20.2 kilometers.
