Harzburger Window Route

The start of this route is at the parking lot of the racecourse in Bündheim. We follow the path up into the forest and reach a water reservoir. Continue straight up the hill and shortly after turn left onto Silberbornstraße. At its end, follow the street “Am Silberborn” and turn right onto “Am Elfenstein.” Once at the top, enter the forest again, go clockwise around the house located there along the Elfensteinweg. We stay on this path until, after a total of 4.1 kilometers, we reach the Harzburger Window, a clearing offering a beautiful view over Bad Harzburg. Further on, we continue straight uphill at the next intersection. At 5.3 km, continue straight to Morlbergsplatz, then turn left to the Schlackenplatz shelter. Perhaps it's a good place for a break? Otherwise, just before the shelter, turn right towards Bleicheborn. Shortly after and at 6.9 km, continue straight. After reaching Bleicheborn, turn left at the next junction towards Torfhaus/Ahrendsberg, then straight on, and at 8.2 km, turn left (next intersection), 200 m further turn right and at 8.9 km turn right again. Follow the path until it forks (10.8 km) and take the left path downwards. At a shelter, follow the path down into the valley until we reach the appart-hotel, behind which we turn left into Waldstraße. At the next bus stop (14.6 km), turn right and pass Café Winuwuk. From here, just continue straight at the next intersection and then, at 15.7 kilometers, follow the street downhill before the Stadtstieg (second right) takes us back to the starting point.
