Route description: The route runs along the lightly trafficked L 1324 past Veltensmühle to Mahndorf.
The road is paved, the first 3 km in need of repair.
Attractions:
Stork's nest in Veltensmühle, manor house and estate with interesting farm buildings as well as park in Mahndorf

The Holtemme cycle path continues to Derenburg

Route description: 3 km are gravelled, 1 km paved.

Steinkuhlenberg — Stone Age castle - Wichhäuser Mill — Remains of the village of Wichhausen
Along the Holtemme we reach the L 82 in Derenburg, cross it at the pedestrian traffic light and continue via Promenade and Schützenstraße to St Katharinen Hospital.
Attractions in Derenburg:
Town hall with marketplace, remains of the city fortifications, local history room, Derenburg glass manufactory (just beyond Derenburg towards Wernigerode)

From Derenburg to Böhnshausen.
To the right at the hospital the path leads along an agricultural track to Böhnshausen. After crossing the former railway line, the path goes a short stretch of cobblestones and then left on a concrete path to Böhnshausen.

Route description: 200 m paved, 200 m cobblestones, the rest concrete path
From Böhnshausen to Langenstein
Route length: 2 km
The route runs along the L 1323. The road is paved but in need of repair. It is closed to truck traffic.

Ancient castle with cave dwelling, park with castle and Ybbsitz bridge, Schäferhof, cave dwellings

From Langenstein to Zwieberge
Along Quedlinburger Straße to the east exit of the village and then on to Zwieberge
Route length: 2.5 km
Route description: Well-developed paved road without through traffic.
Attractions: Lost water (karst spring), old imperial shooting range, Zwieberge with interesting rock formations, memorial site of the former Zwieberge concentration camp
From Zwieberge to Halberstadt
In front of the functional building of the Zwieberge memorial site, we turn right towards Thekenberge. Before Thekenberge, the path goes left towards Landhaus. Past Landhaus, we rejoin the Harz-Aller cycle path. From there, it goes to Halberstadt.
