The varied mountain-valley route leads over the Steinberg, which offers a good view of Goslar. Then it continues uphill into the mixed and spruce forests around Hahnenklee. In a large loop, it goes to the west shore of the Granstausee and back along the railway line to the Goslar old town. The easy trails mainly lead uphill.
