Short circular hike with a wonderful view of Hohegeiß.

Lampertsberg is located south of Hohegeiß and offers the opportunity for a circular hike on forest roads that are suitable for strollers but not paved. This route has moderate ascent with some spots offering a particularly beautiful view of Hohegeiß.
It can also be hiked in winter if you are not using a stroller.

Directions

From the parking lot, walk past the swimming pool down through the Bärenbach valley until the forest road veers off to the left. Always follow the signs for route 7, turn left at the Green Triangle, and continue straight ahead. From the forest road, you can make several short detours to the left to meadows with a beautiful view of Hohegeiß. The route continues straight until a wide path turns left and leads back to the parking lot.

In Hohegeiß, turn off from B 4 into "Kirchstraße" onto "Lange Straße" towards Zorge, in the lower part of the village turn left onto "Bärenbachweg"

Parking lot at the forest swimming pool

Bus line 470 VSN from Braunlage (where various bus lines meet) to Hohegeiß, stop within the town: "Müllers Hotel", from there 500 m walk to the starting point.

Arrival by train:

- From the south: via Walkenried station or Bad Sachsa station. Direct transfer there to bus line 470 towards Braunlage.

- From the north: via Bad Harzburg station; from there bus line 820 KVG. Via Wernigerode station: line 264 HVB. Both to Braunlage central bus station, where you transfer to bus line 470 VSN towards Hohegeiß.

Take a break in the shelter at the Green Triangle. It is especially nice here with a well-packed picnic basket.
In summer, a visit to the Hohegeiß forest swimming pool is worthwhile after the hike.
