Difficult healing climate hiking route around Hahnenklee

Start your hike at the hotel “CAREA Residenz Hotel Harzhöhe” (end of Triftstraße). Keep right and pass the paved field path until you reach a junction. Now turn right onto “Hahnenkleer Bergstrasse.” After a few meters, you will reach the “Oberförster-Hermann-Müller-Denkmal.” Turn left behind the Harzklubhütte and follow the path about 400 m downhill to “Diestelplatz.” Cross it and turn left at the next fork into “Gabelweg.” Follow the path downhill about 1.8 km to the next fork. Keep left and hike uphill through the “Große Uhlental.” After about 1.7 km you will reach the junction “Rolle.” Pass this place and follow the “Goldhähnchenweg” towards “Sattelplatz.” The path initially has a descent of up to 10% and then rises just as steeply again. After 0.5 km you pass the “Kroatenbachquelle.” Already 0.4 km before the Sattelplatz – after about 1.9 km – you must turn right into the “Grüner Weg.” After the first climb, the path is almost flat. In bends and at times with wonderful views you reach a junction after 3.2 km where the “Sommerberghütte” lies. Turn left. After 1 km you reach the “Altarklippen.” Keep right and follow the “Sommerbergstraße.” After 2 km you reach the “Rolle” again. Cross the “Rolle” and go uphill along the “Schlackenweg” about 2 km to the hut “Am Gottlob.” Turn left here onto “Hahnenkleer Bergstraße” and follow it 400 m. After the Kneipp wading basin, keep right and follow the footpath towards the church “Maria vom Schnee.” Now it is only a few steps to the town center.
