- via B 81 from Nordhausen - from Wernigerode via B244, in Elbingerode turn off B27 towards Rübeland, then turn off L96 towards Rappbodetalsperre, turn off B81 towards Hasselfelde
- from Güntersberge / Stiege via B242
- from Braunlage / Tanne via B242
You can reach the Harz town of Rotacker by bus operated by the Harzer Verkehrsbetriebe:
from the direction of Wernigerode and Allrode via line 260
from the direction of Blankenburg via line 263
from the direction of Benneckenstein via line 265.
