Directions
The route starts at the train station. Via Klubgarten and Bäringerstraße you reach the city center. On Hohen Weg you see the beautiful market church and arrive at the cathedral forecourt at the Kaiser's Palace. You leave the parking lot on your right and ascend slightly to the traffic light junction of B 82. You cross this and immediately turn right into Wallstraße. Stay straight on it until Bleicheweg, take the next turn to the right and arrive at Dörpkestieg. Here you can decide whether to continue the route through the Harz foothills or along the edge of the Harz. The described variant here is the Harz foothills route. Turn left into Dörpkestieg, past 'Bollrich' (glider airfield) heading north to the street Im Schleeke (company H. C. Starck). At B 498, immediately turn left into Sudmerbergstraße and continue to a playground on the right. Follow the intersecting foot and cycle path here, past the foothills of Sudmerberg, to Burgweg. Use this path to Mühlenstraße, turn right and continue to Wolfenbütteler Straße. After crossing the Oker, continue for a while along Halberstädter Straße to the turnoff to the sewage treatment plant, which you now take. The sewage treatment plant is on your left; you go under B 6, cross Immenröder Straße, and move between gravel ponds, until at the end you can turn right towards L 518. On the state road, drive about 200 meters north and take the first field path right through a small wooded ridge. At the next field path junction, turn left and keep half-right to Radauer Holz. Along the southern forest edge, you cross both the railway tracks and the gravel ponds and reach B 6. Keeping left along the federal road, you cross it after about 600 meters and follow the field path south along the village of Bettingerode. Over the fields, it goes to Radaumühle, past B 6, to the railway tracks. After crossing them, turn immediately left to reach Schlewecke via Radauanger. Turn right into Bahnhofstraße and follow the signposting of the long-distance bike paths R1/D3 to the racecourse. You pass through the grounds. Uphill, follow the R1 signs past 'Café Goldberg'. Here you have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Harz foothills during a break. Shortly before the Goslar district of Oker, you can decide whether to continue on the somewhat steeper descent route of the long-distance bike path or ride through the Adenbergsiedlung. Before the roundabout on Talstraße, however, return to the R1/D3 route. Passing 'Okertaler Mineral Springs', you move uphill on the forest road towards Goslar city center. The forest path offers several distant views that you should enjoy during short breaks. You arrive in Goslar at the Vocational Training Center and can choose the direct route to the center via Schützenallee or the well-known route via Bleicheweg. Upon arrival at the station, it is recommended to end the day with a stroll through the Goslar old town and relax in one of the many cafes and restaurants.
