Directions
The route starts at the station. You reach the city centre via Klubgartenstraße and Bäringerstraße. On Hohen Weg you will see the beautiful market church and come to the cathedral forecourt at the Imperial Palace. You leave the car park to your right and proceed slightly uphill to the traffic light junction of the B 82. Cross this and immediately turn right into Wallstraße. Continue straight ahead on it to Bleicheweg, take the next turn to the right and arrive at Dörpkestieg. Now you can decide whether to continue the route through the Harz foreland or along the edge of the Harz. The Harz foreland option is described here.
You turn left into Dörpkestieg, pass the "Bollrich" (gliding airfield) heading north towards Im Schleeke street (H. C. Starck company). At the B 498 you immediately turn left into Sudmerbergstraße and then reach a playground on the right side. Follow the foot and cycle path joining here, past the foothills of the Sudmerberg, to Burgweg. Use this to Mühlenstraße, turn right and travel to Wolfenbütteler Straße.
After crossing the Oker, you proceed along Halberstädter Straße for quite a stretch to the Kläranlage (sewage treatment plant) junction, which you now choose. The sewage treatment plant is on your left, you go under the B 6, cross Immenröder Straße and move between the gravel ponds, then at the end you can turn right towards L 518.
You drive about 200 meters north on the state road and take the first field path to the right through a small wooded ridge. At the next field path junction turn left and keep slightly right to Radauer Holz. Along the southern edge of the forest, you cross both the railway tracks and the gravel ponds and arrive at the B 6. Keeping left at the federal highway, you cross it after about 600 meters and follow the field path south along the village of Bettingerode. Across the fields it goes to the Radaumühle, past the B 6, to the railway tracks. After crossing them, turn immediately left to reach Schlewecke via Radauanger.
You turn right into Bahnhofstraße and follow the signposting of the long-distance cycle route R1/D3 to the Galopprennbahn. You cross the premises. Uphill, the R1 signposting continues to serve you, past "Café Goldberg". Here you have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Harz foreland during a break.
Shortly before the Goslar district of Oker, you can decide whether to continue along the slightly steeper route of the long-distance cycle route or to ride through the Adenberg settlement. However, before the roundabout on Talstraße, you return to the R1/D3 route. Passing the "Okertaler Mineralbrunnen" you move uphill on the forest road towards Goslar centre. The path through the forest offers several panoramic views, which you should enjoy during short breaks. You arrive in Goslar at the Professional Training Centre and can choose the direct route into the centre via Schützenallee or the well-known route via Bleicheweg. Once you reach the station, it is recommended to end the day with a stroll through Goslar's old town and to relax in one of the numerous cafes and restaurants.
