Circular hike around Bad Suderode

We start the route directly in front of the Bad Suderode information center. From the town hall square, go down Brinkstraße, straight ahead across the market and behind the shelter at the bus stop into the street: Bleicheplatz. From here we follow the signs for the Selketalstieg towards Quedlinburg until the end of Schulstraße. Then turn right into Bahnhofstraße and continue straight ahead. At the large intersection, turn left into Chausseestraße. Follow this out of town in a northwesterly direction and before the building materials store Wuttig turn left into the country lane (Am Galgenberg - since the footpath ends shortly before, you have to walk about 50 m next to the road. Caution!). Now we follow the wide country lane westwards, cross Nordhäuser Heerstraße and continue straight ahead on the nature trail until Schäfereiche. About 30 m behind Schäfereiche, the path (an animal trail) branches steeply right uphill to Lämmertrift (viewpoint – great view of the Teufelsmauer, the mill in Warnstedt, and more). From the viewpoint, descend towards Neinstedt / Rumberg. At the end of the downhill section, continue straight into the forest (narrow path), after a short climb the path turns left and leads us uphill onto the Rumberg. At the highest point, there is a great view of the Brocken, Thale, the Rosstrappe, the Lauenburg ruin, and more.
Now go right down a narrow path to Neinstedt. Keep left at the orchard. In Neinstedt, turn left again – street: Alte Ziegelei. After about 50 m a driveway leads to the hidden clay pit. There are several seating groups inviting you to a cozy rest by the lake. Continue: turn right into Stecklenberger Straße, after about 40 m turn left over a small bridge (weathered barrier sign), then cross Ostring street to Siedlung street. Turn left and follow the street out of town in a southward direction. At the end of the village, follow the marked hiking trail to Stecklenberg. In Stecklenberg go through Schulgasse to the church, then through the spa park to the calcium spring (marking: 3-Burgen-Weg; small path marker 8x9 cm). In front of the spring there is another rest area: At the quarry. But also right next to the spring there are seating possibilities. Behind the spring, the path turns left towards Bad Suderode. Initially, the climb is quite steep, then follow the well-marked and comfortable forest path down to Suderode. At the entrance to Suderode turn right: Lauenburger Straße, Tempelstraße, town hall square.

at the former quarry in Stecklenberg or at the calcium spring in Stecklenberg.
