The National Park forest youth center Brunnenbachsmühle offers young people the opportunity not only to talk about environmental protection, but also to become active themselves.
For three, five or twelve days, youth groups of fifteen or more can get involved here for nature in the national park and enjoy forest idylls along the way.

Our house is located in an idyllic location about 3 km south of Braunlage. The old railroad station of the Südharzeisenbahn was converted into a youth forest home after the closure of the line in 1967.
The charm of the building could be preserved. So the food is served today where you could buy the tickets in former times.
There are 32 beds available for groups (two 8-bed rooms, two 6-bed rooms and one 4-bed room). The additional caregiver rooms (two single rooms with shower) offer a sofa bed in addition to the bed, so that for large groups two people can be accommodated here per room.
This also applies to our sick room with 2 beds. With this we can accommodate a maximum of 38 people.
Our dining and recreation room offers various board games, satellite TV and DVD player as well as a beautiful tiled stove, which emphasizes the cozy atmosphere of the old train station.
The dining room is equipped with dishes and cutlery according to our maximum occupancy. Our kitchen also has sufficient capacity (four hotplates, oven, refrigerators, etc.). When it crackles in the tiled stove, it becomes cozy in the Jugendwaldheim.
Our seminar room is equipped with flipchart, overhead projector and beamer. In the recreation room, table tennis, foosball and a powerful stereo system are waiting to be used.
When returning from a forest outreach or other activity, our dirt lock is available. Boots can also be dried here - an advantage not to be sneezed at in the Upper Harz.
The outdoor area is exclusively available for our groups. Here our guests will find a campfire site as well as a football field, a volleyball court, a one-basket basketball and a table tennis table.
