Along the "Green Belt" - from the death strip to the lifeline
This hike first takes you from Hohegeiß to Benneckenstein. From there, you take the Harz narrow-gauge railway steam train to Sorge.
From Sorge, you walk along the Harz border trail along the "Green Belt" and discover the extraordinary Harz nature.
You learn interesting facts about the former inner-German border in the Sorge open-air museum before you hike back to Hohegeiß via the Ring of Remembrance.
Trail length: approx. 11 km, 300 metres difference in altitude, duration approx. 4 hours

Costs: Adults €6 per person incl. train journey, (on presentation of D-ticket €4/person)
Children aged 7 and over €3 incl. train journey
