The Great Circular Route "Hiking Connects" runs along the scenic beauties of the "Kleiner Fallstein" between Hornburg and Osterwieck. Apart from a few ascents and descents, the footpath is almost always flat, mostly on natural paths and trails that require some attention. It opens wide views to the south towards the Harz, to the north up to the Elm. Due to its length, it requires some stamina.

Directions
Starting in Hornburg, the path runs along the ridgeway to the nature reserve "Kleiner Fallstein" heading east. The hiker passes a piece of border fence with an associated border tower at the former German-German border and crosses the "Kleiner Fallstein" with its pigeon oaks and hornbeams. It continues through the southern area of the "Großer Fallstein" and then back towards the west. Near Hoppenstedt, one can admire a former limestone quarry as well as Adonis flowers in the spring. The quarry is a particularly valuable geotope and protected as a natural monument. The last kilometers back to the starting point run parallel to the Ilse. The circular route can also be hiked starting from Osterwieck.
