Destination: Parking lot at Ferienpark Waldsee, Clausthal

The approximately 6 km long cross-country skiing route starts at the old station, at the motorhome parking area at the end of Rothenberger Straße.

The "Bahnloipe" is an easy target trail marked with blue arrows. Up to just before Clausthal, it steadily but moderately ascends. At the end, the former railway track leads the trail to the right towards Hausherzberger Pond to the Ferienpark Waldsee.

Together with municipalities in the West Harz and the districts of Goslar and Osterode am Harz, the Safety Foundation in Skiing (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have worked in recent years to qualitatively develop the trail network in the Harz. The trails have been certified as DSV nordic active centers according to international criteria, marked with a uniform system, and equipped with information boards.
