Circular hiking route Gabelweihe

The starting point is the Schäfertor at the village exit towards Rhüden. We begin at the Schäfertor uphill on the slope of the Heber straight ahead, passing the Heber Cross to the Trompeter. Here we turn left, parallel to the forest edge, cross the L466 and then reach the “play meadow” with a hiking sign in a northern direction. A rest in or in front of the shelter is recommended. Barbecues are allowed here, but only after prior registration with the municipal administration. The path continues on an arbor-like forest edge path that later becomes a forest edge grass path with a beautiful view of Lamspringe. Benches invite you to linger. Parallel to the state road, we reach our starting point at the Schäfertor.

The circular route can be easily extended, for example via the Heberberg and parts of the monastery hiking trail.
