Catharina Neufang Mine Tour
Today, a visit to the Catharina Neufang mine is a fascinating journey through time. In addition to the historic mining operations featuring pick-and-shovel work, the highlight is a fully mined ore vein at a depth of about 240 meters. In 2025, restoration work was carried out at the mine in accordance with mining ecology and historic preservation standards, allowing the Catharina Neufang to reopen to visitors in 2026.
To fully understand vein mining and the mining techniques used at the Catharina Neufang Mine, a prior visit to the Samson Mine and the Mining Museum is recommended.
The mine is partially accessible; please feel free to contact us for further information. People with disabilities may visit certain areas by prior arrangement. Helmets are required during tours of this mine. Children under 10 years of age are not permitted to visit the mine, and dogs are not allowed.
